🛠️ DIY Instructions 🛠️
Step 1: Choose the Right Pumpkin**
Begin by selecting a pumpkin with a flat base. The size can vary, but ensure it’s large enough to comfortably fit the door and windows. It’s crucial to pick a fresh pumpkin — one that feels solid to the touch and is free of soft spots or sunken areas. This ensures your fairy house will last longer and look its best.

Step 2: Carve the Pumpkin and Create Window Openings**
Carefully cut off the top of the pumpkin to create a lid. You can choose to make a straight cut or add a decorative, jagged edge for extra charm. Remove the seeds and pulp from inside the pumpkin using a spoon or your hands. To create window openings, use a carving tool or a sharp knife to cut out circular shapes where you want the windows to be.

Step 3: Preserve the pumpkin (Optional)**
To prolong the life of your pumpkin fairy house, consider preserving it using one of the following methods:

a) Lemon Water Mixture:
Create a mixture of 1 part lemon juice to 10 parts water.
Using a spray bottle, thoroughly spray both the interior and exterior of the carved pumpkin.
The citric acid in the lemon juice helps inhibit mold and decay.
Allow the pumpkin to air dry before proceeding to the next steps.
b) Pumpkin Spray (Commercial Preservative):
Purchase a commercially available pumpkin preservation spray from a craft or garden store.
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for application.
These sprays often contain ingredients that help slow down decay and maintain the pumpkin’s freshness.
c) Bleach Bath (Caution: Use with care):
Mix 1 tablespoon of bleach with 1 gallon of water in a large container.
Submerge the carved pumpkin in this bleach solution for about 10 minutes.
Wear gloves and handle bleach with caution.
After soaking, rinse the pumpkin thoroughly with clean water.
Allow it to air dry completely before proceeding with the fairy house assembly.
Note: The preservation step is optional, but it can help your pumpkin fairy house stay in better condition for a longer time, especially if you plan to display it for an extended period or in varying weather conditions.

Step 4: Create the Door and Windows
For the door, take one of the wooden rings and glue the wooden craft sticks vertically to it. Optionally, you can paint the door for a splash of color. Let it dry if you choose to paint it. Additionally, cut a 3mm piece from the wooden dowels and attach it to the door as a charming door handle. To create the windows, glue the Halloween cutouts onto the wooden rings you’ve prepared for the windows, arranging and attaching them to create charming window designs.

Step 5: Attach the Door and Windows
Apply craft glue around the edges of the wooden door and windows, then carefully press them into the holes you created in the pumpkin. Hold them in place until the glue sets.

Step 6: Add Moss
Enhance the natural look of your fairy house by using craft glue to attach moss around the edges of the door and windows. This not only covers any gaps but also creates a more magical appearance. You can also add moss to the top of the pumpkin to give it a charming thatched roof appearance.

Step 7: Display Your Pumpkin Fairy House
Insert the string of fairy lights inside the pumpkin. Find a suitable spot to display your pumpkin fairy house, whether indoors or outdoors. When darkness falls, turn on the fairy lights to make your creation glow with enchantment.
