🧚 The Fairy Stay Guide
A gentle tradition to welcome imagination, nature, and kindness into everyday life
✨ What Is "The Fairy Stay"?
The Fairy Stay begins on June 24th. On that day, a fairy quietly moves in - playfully and magically - into your home or garden for one whole month.
She might arrive with a tiny letter, settle into a mossy nook or flowerpot, and begin to leave little signs of her presence. She doesn’t need to be seen - only believed in.
This tradition is meant to nurture:
- Imagination
- Creativity
- Kindness
- Spend time outdoors
- A belief in magic
🌸 What Happens During The Fairy Stay?
As part of our journey this month, I’ll be sharing fun and simple ideas - creative prompts, nature activities, and fairy-friendly surprises. Feel free to follow along or invent your own magic!
Your fairy might:
- Leave tiny letters with creative tasks
- Invite your child to build or decorate fairy spaces
- Suggest scavenger hunts or storytelling games
- Encourage small acts of kindness
There are no rules - just a gentle rhythm of discovery and play.
🌞 How to Begin
- Create a fairy home. A mossy corner, flowerpot, or shoebox works beautifully. Let your child decorate with nature finds or craft supplies.
- Leave a welcome letter. It can come from the fairy or your child. This opens the door to imagination.
- Let the magic build slowly. Maybe a tiny item appears one day… a note the next. There’s no rush.
- Guide gently. Leave a suggestion or a prompt. Let your child lead the adventure.
💚 What Children Learn
- Be creative
- Believe in magic
- Spend time outdoors
- Be kind
It’s about noticing the little things, nurturing wonder, and finding joy in everyday moments.
🧚 Tips for Those Celebrating the Fairy Stay
- Keep it light - no pressure to do something every day
- Use what you have: leaves, string, acorn caps
- Notes can be printed or hand-written - whatever feels magical
- Let your child’s imagination lead
- Give your fairy a voice that feels right - silly, wise, or mysterious
🌈 When the Fairy Leaves
At the end of the month, your fairy might leave a farewell letter - thanking your child and promising to return. Maybe there’s a keepsake. Maybe just sparkles.
The Fairy Stay isn’t about doing more - it’s about noticing more.
It’s about shared wonder and the magic of being present.
🌿Welcome, fairy friend.
With love,
Mary

I love this. My mom would leave fairy presents for my daughters on a tree stump in the backyard. I’m carrying on her tradition by making a fairy garden with my grandsons.
